The PMO Press Correspondents Group comprises no greater than 50 local and international
journalists representing various media entities that will be provided press passes to cover the events
and activities of the Prime Minister’s Office through the newly established Press Secretariat.
Why are we structuring in this form?
As the media space is opening up due to the reforms being introduced, ensuring that citizens through
the media have current and accurate access to information is of paramount importance to the PMO.
By establishing a closer and structured relationship with media entities whose focus is covering current issues and news analysis, the PMO Press Secretariat works to ensure effective communication of PMO activities in a streamlined manner.
What does structuring in this way mean?
The shortlisted Press Correspondents will have access to frequent and scheduled press briefings from the Press Secretariat on the work and activities of the PMO. However, all media entities that are not members of the Press Correspondents Group will still have access to the same level of information through the frequent media releases and social media updates issued by the Press Secretariat.
